Yes, there is off street parking and on street parking, including a disabled car space right at the front door.

General X-rays do not require an appointment, however to ensure a short wait time, it is recommended you book prior to arrival. You can either call our office on (07) 4181 0200, email [email protected] or you can visit our office in person to make a booking. Please have your referral with you when booking an appointment.

Some of our imaging will be bulk billed under Medicare, but some will have an out of pocket fee. You will be advised of the upfront fee when booking your appointment, payment is due on completion of your scan by either cash or eftpos.

Currently, Australian private health insurers do not pay the gap between the Medicare rebate and what you pay for any outpatient radiology tests.

Although orthopedic and dental implants are metal, they are not magnetic (ferrous). These include hip and knee replacements, plates, screws, and rods to treat limb fractures, and dental fillings. While non-ferrous surgical metal can distort an MRI image, the majority are safe within the strong magnetic field of an MRI machine. Anyone having an MRI must answer a series of questions to determine the likelihood of any safety problems. The types of metal implants that could be affected by the strong magnetic forces include: Pacemakers or heart valves, glucose monitors, metal implants in a patient's brain, metal implants in a patient's eye or ears, infusion catheters. Please be sure to discuss any concerns you have with the radiographer before the MRI test.

Yes. At Voxel Radiology we require a request form from an authorised referrer before we can book or perform any medical imaging study. Authorised referrers include Specialists, General Practitioners, Dentists, Chiropractors, Podiatrists, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths.

You are welcome to use any generic or other radiology practice’s request form, they are universal. You have the choice of imaging provider, and we thank you if you choose to use our service.

Your images will be ready shortly after your examination is completed. These images will then be studied and reported by our Radiologist(s). The report will be sent to your GP or specialist within the next 1-2 business days by fax or secure electronic transfer

For some scans and procedures, you will be required to fast for a certain period of time prior to your appointment. This means you need to withhold food, fluids and chewing gum for the specified time. At the time of your booking our team will confirm these instructions with you, including details regarding any medications. Please advise our staff if you are diabetic.

It is best to wear something that is comfortable to your examination. A two piece outfit that is easily removed as you could be asked to change into a gown or remove part of your clothing depending on the examination you are having. Try to wear clothing that does not have any metal fasteners or decals.

Some examinations in the radiology department require you to be in an enclosed space, such as an MRI scanner, or in some examinations cameras will come close to you. If you are severely claustrophobic, please mention it to our team upon booking your appointment. Sometimes a mild sedative can be recommended by your GP and taken prior to your appointment, to help you complete the examination.

It is important to inform a member of staff as soon as possible if you are pregnant before the test is performed. The examination may not be appropriate or special considerations or precautions might need to be taken. If you suspect you could be pregnant, then a pregnancy test may need to be performed prior to the commencement of the examination.
